Lindsie Chrisley is a bigger person than we are.
Why do we make this proclamation?
Because someone close to the podcast host and former reality TV star says Lindsie would be willing to make up with her estranged father — under one pretty huge condition.
“It’s always been her wish to reconcile on a genuine, loving, human level, not on a superficial business level, or a phony type of affection that has no depth of to it,” Lindsie’s attorney, Musa Ghanayem, told E! News on Saturday.
Added the lawyer, seemingly taking a jab at Todd Chrisley:
“This is not a TV show, she doesn’t want to a member of the cast, she wants to be a member of the family.
“If she received a genuine, human, heartfelt invitation to reconnect she would be open to do so, but that has not happened.”
Lindsie left the actual reality TV show, Chrisley Knows Best, in 2017.
It’s never been made clear exactly why she had a falling out with her family, but the last several days have made clear just how far apart she remains from her parents, most notably father Todd.
Early last week, Todd and Julie Chrisley were indicted on multiple charges of tax evasion.
They’re accused of hiding money from the government and of falsifying official bank documents.
In response to these serious allegations — if convicted across the board, the USA Network personalities could face 30 years behind bars — Todd has blamed a bitter ex-employee for setting him up and has stated he is totally innocent.
Some fans out there, meanwhile, have blamed Lindsie.
They think she played some sort of role in alerting the authorities to her father’s allegedly illegal behavior, which prompted a rep for Lindsie to deny this charge last week and add:
“Lindsie has been a constant target of lies, harassment and threats from her family and as a result, has been distancing herself from the Chrisley family since 2017.”
To what, exactly, is this a reference?
Lindsie reportedly filed a police report in June that claimed Todd and her brother, Chase, were in possession a sex tape (!!!!) she had made… and that they were threatening to release it if she didn’t help them cover up Todd’s crimes (!!!!!!!!!!).
Could this actually be true?
Todd fired back with a statement of his own in which he denied any sort of extortion — but in which he hurled his own daughter under the bus for carrying on multiple affairs.
This is actually what he said:
It’s heartbreaking and shameful that these kinds of accusations have to be aired in public.
We have tried to keep Lindsie’s extramarital relationships with [Bachelor Nation stars] Robby Hayes and Josh Murray private for her sake since August of 2016.
Sadly, for reasons we can only guess at, she ran to the sheriff’s office to accuse her brother of buying a sex tape of her and Robby, which was a complete lie, and now she’s telling more lies about me.
Although our hearts are broken, Lindsie is our daughter and we will always love her.
Quite the role model, isn’t he?
Todd has pleaded not guilty in court to the tax evasion charges leveled against him.
And while we wait for the next step in this legal case to play out, we can already issue a verdict in the personal case of Todd Chrisley as a father:
He is the absolute worst.
