Javy Báez does something unique, special, and fun on the baseball field seemingly several times a week during the MLB season. It’s why he has the well-deserved nickname El Mago.
And in the Chicago Cubs’ game against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night at Wrigley Field, Báez put a nasty move on David Freese to avoid a tag and get an infield single. You rarely see an ankle-breaking crossover move in baseball, but that’s what happened here on what should’ve been an easy out:

Every time I think I've seen all that Javy Baez can do, he does something I've never seen before.

It’s certainly debatable as to whether or not Báez remained in the baseline on the play, but he was ruled safe and it was an awesome, hilarious play. So we’ll just enjoy it.
